Where it works well
In bathrooms, kitchens and kitchen-diners with underfloor heating. Because the surface has no joints, dirt has nowhere to collect and a small bathroom looks bigger. We advise against it on a wooden floor. Wood moves, and that causes hairline cracks.
Honest about the material
For all our other techniques we work with lime. Microcement contains resin, otherwise it wouldn't be waterproof in a shower. So we only use it where it's really needed.
For a living room wall with the same look we often suggest a lime-based concrete finish instead. It looks almost the same and still lets the wall breathe.
